Acaya Golf Resort & SPA ****
The Doubletree by Hilton Acaya Golf Resort boasts a great location for getting to know and appreciating the wonders of Salento: it sits in the middle of two coasts, in 330 acres of uncontaminated countryside next to the WWF Natural Oasis of the Cesine, where almost 40 workers from this wildlife association are involved in innovative projects that aim to protect the area's biodiversity. The hotel is also just 10 minutes from the historic centre of Lecce, just over one hour from Brindisi airport (and 2 from Bari airport) and just five minutes from a beach where guests can make the most of the comfort and relaxation offered by the splendid Salentino sea.
From an archaeological point of view, the property was thought up and realised with maximum respect for the regional and historic context, since Salento is famous for the characteristics of its buildings, from farmhouses to villas. Immersed in typical Mediterranean vegetation and olive trees, it is clear to see from the outside that the building was inspired by ancient monasteries , but this contradicts the internal contemporary design, large and comfortable communal areas and spacious rooms, which have terraces and private gardens that look out over the splendid surrounding nature. What is more, the services offered were thought up to satisfy a large range of guests, from business customers, who can make use of the properties that are equipped for meetings, to spaces that guarantee privacy for families with babies. The hotel also has a large outdoor swimming pool in the beautiful courtyard, another swimming pool adjacent to the 18 hole golf course, with separate tubs for small guests, a heated indoor hydromassage swimming pool, spa and fitness rooms where pure well-being programmes are carried out, a football pitch, an elegant club house for golf players and a renowned golf school.
The beautiful location and wealth of services on offer also make the Doubletree by Hilton Acaya Golf Resort the ideal place for conventions and business meetings: the Acaya Conference Centre boasts 9 flexible rooms which are lit naturally, it can host from 50 to 700 people and it is perfectly equipped to carry out any type of event.
There is a good 1,200mq dedicated to Wellness at the Doubletree by Hilton Acaya Golf Resort with a Spa programme which includes: a panoramic, hydromassage tub with chromotherapy, a sauna, calidarium, frigidarium, tiepidarium, emotional showers and a relaxation area with a tea room. In the Spa & Wellness Acaya, guests can experience various, relaxing treatments and massages- decontracting, circulatory, detox and anti-aging all with the use of natural and hypoallergenic products as well as Ayurvedic medicine extracts. Next to the 8 Beauty treatment cabins is the Thermal Suite, offering a private, couples spa programme and a gym faces out onto the green, golf course.
The rooms and Suites at the Acaya Golf Resort are presented in a contemporary style and are in harmony with the outside, its architecture inspired by the local territory. Rooms on the ground floor provide a patio or a garden, those on the first floor have a terrace or balcony and those on the second floor have a panoramic roof garden. Room types include: Deluxe Family (capable of hosting up to 4 people); King Guestroom with ample windows and a private balcony; King Family Suites have two bathrooms and the King Suite offers a separate living room. Communal amenities include: two telephones, Satellite TV, tea and coffee making-facilities, a safe and a Wi-Fi connection.
There are two restaurant options at the Acaya Golf Resort. The restaurant in Gian Giacomo proposes à la carte dishes based on Salentine, national and international cuisine. All of this, to be tried on the scenographic terrace during the summer months. Another typical, Salentine restaurant is situated on an old 16th century manor farm, immersed in greenery, brought to life by the nature that surrounds it. Vegetarian, Vegan, Celiac and nutritional dishes are also available.
Some of the hotel’s services and facilities:
For several years now, the Salentine peninsula has enjoyed great popularity both in terms of tourism and for the liveliness of its production in the worlds of art and culture. Of the tourism itineraries available, the nature ones compete with some of the most beautiful in Italy, such as Chianti, however the beauty of the sea and the beaches in Salento make it very popular with seaside tourists . There are also many towns to discover and experience and the nearest is Lecce, which Gregorovius defined as the 'Florence of the South' and which boasts a wonderful historic centre that is characterised by Baroque architecture, many monuments, churches and ancient buildings. From Lecce, which is thought of as the capital city of Salento, you can easily get to other small towns in the hinterland of Salento, where numerous churches, farm houses and villas populate the area and where history, art and culture marry together with a great tradition of hospitality.
