Hotel Terme di Agnano Spa Resort ****
The only spa accommodation in Naples: Hotel Terme Agnano’s strong point is its wellness offer which is largely related to its use of precious waters, which have healing properties, and, thanks to its strategic position and the services it offers, it is ideal for other types of stays too, including business trips. The hotel, which is classified as four stars, has recently been equipped with a 1000m² Spa Beauty Farm which enriches its vocation as an hotel for wellness. The furnishing in both the common areas and bedrooms is sober, whilst the outside of the hotel is dominated by the greenery of a centuries-old park, where it is also possible to go jogging. The presence of ten halls, which can host 300 people overall, also makes Hotel Terme Agnano the perfect location for meetings, exhibitions or events of any type.
The individuality of Hotel Terme Agnano’s spa proposal lies in the presence of the famous Stufe di San Germano , which got their name from the Bishop of Capua, who healed both arthritis and a skin disease with them in 1600. This is a unique example of natural dry heat saunas in Italy and they are equipped with a special microclimate, making it possible to withstand the high temperatures caused by volcanic gases. They are used for their detoxifying and decontracting action and they are effective for rheumatic problems, respiratory passages, the skin, for people who are overweight and for alleviating psycho-physical stress. In addition to traditional thermal treatments and thermal aesthetics, all the main massages, from shiatsu to Californian massages , are carried out and a dietician is also available for personalised advice.
The hotel has 62 rooms in total, equipped with every comfort, and 32 of the rooms have a splendid view of the park. There is also a free Wi-Fi internet connection in every room and satellite television.
The hotel’s restaurant, situated on the top floor, offers a splendid view of the park and the hollow of the crater of Agnano. The cuisine is Mediterranean, cooked by chef Domenico Guarracino, whilst the dining room is run by Maitre Rosario Di Pierno. The Menu of the Day and the Menu à la Carte are accompanied by a vast choice of gluten free dishes: the restaurant is a member of the Italian Cœliac Association. The wine cellar is well stocked with wines from Campania, as well as with a wide choice of national bottles. The park’s refreshment area is open the entire morning for aperitifs or cold buffets and an American Bar with cocktails and snacks, where it is also possible to follow the most important sporting events on a large screen, completes the hotel’s offer.
Some of the hotel’s services and facilities:
Agnano Terme lies in the area of the Campi Flegrei (Phlegraean Fields) in the North-West part of the city of Naples, an area which was once part of the Grand Tour of Italy because of the numerous interesting, historic and archaeological sites, the most impressive being the remains of the sumptuous villas built by the emperors and Roman aristocracy. As far as nature is concerned, taking a visit to the beautiful Astroni Park is a must: it is a royal hunting ground endowed with three lakes that have volcanic origins and here you can visit the remains of the baths built by the Romans in ancient times, as well as the temple of Serapis and Grotto of Sibyl. There is also a port in Agnano where it is possible to take a boat over to the isles of Ischia (which also has various, renowned spas), Vulcano and Capri. Naples itself offers a vast quantity of historic and artistic attractions, as well as being close to the wonderful Amalfi Coast and the archaeological sites of Paestum and Pompei, which are visited by approximately three million tourists every year.
