Borgo Egnazia Hotel Ville Spa Golf *****
Borgo Egnazia is a complex and fascinating property that is nestled amongst the greenery of the hills and the blue of the sea, and the best way to understand its organisation is to think about how it was thought up, designed and built to create a sense of beauty and well-being. In fact, it is precisely this that explains the charm of this grand 5 star resort, which has respected history and nature by turning these two factors into strong points which are not only aesthetic.
Breathing in the uncontaminated air, which is provided by the nearby, centuries-old olive groves and the Adriatic sea, and admiring the properties which blend in with the area’s architectural history is sure to make everyone feel calm and at ease.
The resort is made up of the central hotel, hosting 63 rooms, the Borgo Village, which has 92 suites, 28 villas, which surround the main building, the hotel’s bars and restaurants, the Beach Club, an 18 hole golf course and, of course, the splendid spa.
Vair Spa, 1,800m² in size, is aan appreciated Spa thanks to the quality of its equipment, rooms, particular architecture and the treatments that it offers, all of which distinguishes it from other health farms. The Spa boasts: the charm of Spirt, including steam treatments in the calidarium, frigidarium and tepidarium; an area that is completely dedicated to aesthetics, including a hair salon; a fitness area and technogym; 12 spa rooms, including a twin room, a suite and Thai massage room; specialised staff; cutting-edge equipment; and personalised treatments. The hotel 'La Corte' is home to the Egnathia suite, which has a private swimming pool, and 63 rooms which all have a balcony overlooking the swimming pool, sea or hills and which are split into four categories. The Borgo Village, structured as if it were the centre of an ancient stone village, is home to 92 charactersitic houses which are split into five categories. This is not all however, as guests can also choose to stay in one of the three types of villas that surround the central building.
The vastness and charm of this resort is such that it will satisfy any desire thanks to its luxury, appeal, stone pathways and gardens
The Hotel, Borgo Village and Beach Club each offer a bar and restaurant with different features, but they all share a communal love and respect for a healthy and wholesome cuisine and the characteristic traditions from the area, and not forgetting creativity. The restaurants bring out the best of the Pugliese gastronomy and they combine it with a skilful touch of originality, and, as well as a restaurant with an ample veranda, the hotel also has a wine cellar where guests can go on wine tasting tours and have private dinners. Furthermore, the Borgo Village lets guests dine in the central piazza.
Some of the hotel’s services and facilities:
The nearby and lively town of Fasano, which has more than 30,000 polite and hospitable inhabitants, has some lovely views and delightful features and the air is fresh in the summer yet mild in the winter thanks to the surrounding hills, the nearby town of Selva and the sea.
Fasano boasts an extraordinary variety of tourist resources and Selva di Fasano is just 7 kilometres away, which is a prominent place to see the ‘trulli’. A visit to the zoo safari, which expands over 80 hectares, is a must for children because over 500 exotic animals, such as zebras, lions, giraffes, Himalayan bears, lamas, African buffalos, fallow deer, bison, a group of about 60 flamingos and numerous families of monkeys, roam around freely and, just like in South African safaris, cars are allowed to drive by slowly, but with the windows closed along the trails. Next to the zoo is the theme park Fasanolandia .
Savelletri di Fasano, where Borgo Egnazia is situated, is also ideal for exploring this large area which is home to the caves of Castellana, Lecce, splendid examples of Baroque architecture and Alberobello and its characteristic trulli, which have been declared a World Heritage Centre by UNESCO, as has the charming Castel del Monte, the symbolism of which has fascinated scholars from all over the world for many centuries.
