Grand Hotel Fasano *****
Immersed in a 12,000m² park and close to Lake Garda, this hotel accommodates guests in the main building and the additional building, Villa Principe. The Grand Hotel Fasano’s main strong point is, without a doubt, the elegance that exudes out of each room which is thanks to many aspects, from the choice of colours to the details of the furnishings. As well as various restaurants and a bar, the hotels provides many services and facilities for its guests, and there is even a golf course nearby, the possibility to organise banquets and a congress centre on site where both meetings and exhibitions can be held. The architecture, philosophy and details at the Aqua Spa are inspired by well-being and Roman thermae baths, and a touch of holistic philosophy and air, water, fire and earth details make this place truly special. The spa expands over 1500m² and guests can make use of the indoor pool with hydromassage points, outdoor and indoor Jacuzzi tubs, saunas, Turkish baths, relaxation zones, a tepidarium, vitarium, laconium, chromotherapy and aromatherapy showers, Kneipp circuit, ice waterfalls, a gym, solarium and beauty farm. Weekly programmes are also available here (Silhouette, Athletic, Anti-Aging and Anti-Stress) which involve medical and diagnostic services, physical therapy and nutritional rebalancing. What is more, there are numerous face and body treatments and massages to choose from.
This hotel has standard and superior rooms and some face the lake, however they all have air conditioning, a safe box, television and a mini bar, and those with a view of the lake have a balcony. The superior rooms also have a living area and internet connection, as do the deluxe rooms which, just like the suites, all have a view of the lake.
At lunch guests can enjoy the outdoor service at the bar-restaurant La Terrazza (which has a smoking area) which serves up light and unique dishes, whilst the Il Fagiano restaurant is only open in the evening for dinner and here the chefs reinterpret elegance, tradition, creativity and culinary art with remarkable skill. La Darsena is a beach club on the shore of Lake Garda and it serves drinks, simple yet wholesome dishes, aperitifs and after-dinner delights, and next to the restaurant is the tapas bar which is dedicated to the ritual of the ‘aperitivo’ (aperitif) and which serves up Iberian specialities.

Desenzano and Sirmione are two places of interest on Lake Garda from a tourism point of view, the former for its historic centre, Medieval village and remains of the ancient Roman villa, and the latter for the Scaliger Castle, Catullo Grottos and the thermae baths. Other attractions in this area are the Salò Cathedral , the Vittoriale degli Italiani in Gardone Riviera, the Casa del Podestà in Lonato and various theme parks, such as Gardaland, CanevaWorld, the Parco Natura Viva safari zoo and Jungle Adventure. Not too far away by car is Verona, one of the most beautiful cities in Italy thanks to monuments like the Arena, a Roman amphitheatre which is home to the famous opera season, and one of the most popular destinations of Shakespeare fans, Juliet’s balcony. Other points of historic and cultural interest are Piazza Erbe, the Basilica of San Zeno and Palazzo del Podestà. Mantova also has lots to offer, including Palazzo Te, Piazza delle Erbe and towers and bridges.
